I always thought solving a Rubik’s Cube was some kind of mystery — like a puzzle only a rare few could crack. I had heard somewhere that only a small percentage of people in the world can actually solve it, and that made it feel even more exclusive… almost like a secret club I was definitely not part of
For the longest time, I would just sit there watching my friends solve the cube. They’d casually pick it up, do a few quick twists — and suddenly… it was solved.
I’d be standing there like WTF!!

When I tried it myself, it was a completely different story. A few random twists in, and I’d already made it worse than before. Every move felt like it was undoing something else. Honestly, I never thought I’d be someone who could actually solve it.
But recently, something changed.
I decided to actually learn it.
At first, it felt overwhelming — algorithms, patterns, steps… it all looked complicated. But once I started breaking it down step by step, things began to click. What I thought would take days or weeks surprisingly took me just 3–4 hours to understand and practice.
And then — I solved it.

That moment felt amazing. The “mystery” I once believed in was suddenly gone. I realized it wasn’t magic or some genius-only skill — it was just a process, something anyone can learn with a bit of patience.
Now comes the slightly sad part.
The mystery is gone.
That magical feeling of “how is this even possible?” has been replaced with “oh, I know this step.” Not gonna lie… it feels a little less dramatic now.
But at the same time, something new has taken its place — improvement.
Right now, I can solve the cube in under 3 minutes, and I’m getting better with every attempt. What started as curiosity has turned into a small challenge with myself: how fast can I go?

Looking back, I think the real takeaway isn’t just learning to solve a cube. It’s realizing how many things in life look impossible from the outside — until you actually try to understand them.
Maybe the mystery didn’t completely disappear.
Maybe it just turned into something even better — a skill.
